Robert Koncyk: Drums, Percussion & Voices Brian Koncyk: Lead & Rhythm Guitar, Lead & Backing Vocals, Bass Guitar and Keyboard
Robert and Brian were both born in December, Rob on the 30th and Brian on the 29th. They are four years apart in age, Rob being the oldest. Their grandparents on their mother's side we're both musicians. Their grandmother (Mable) was able to play several instruments and sang. Their grandfather (George) was a drummer and both were from musical families. In fact they met when Mable fell into George's drums while playing out. When Rob was very small his mom (Patricia) introduced him to Elvis and the rest of the great 50s music. When they were living in Smith's Creek, their father (Robert) bought a guitar and amp. He started teaching himself to play from a book. Their Mom encouraged the boys to try to play, Rob being first but he gave up on guitar and little Brian was waiting for his turn. He was so small he could barely hold the guitar. Their Mom signed Rob up for intermediate school band class where he was put into the clarinet section. When his Mom found out she contacted the school and he was soon playing drums, she would not have it any other way. Their Father got them listening to the awesome 70s rock and then they heard KISS. Robert and a friend of his (Eric) started writing and playing together. Eric heard little Brian play and he was in. Their parents had signed Brian up for guitar lessons at age nine and then bought them their first real instruments for Christmas when Rob was fifteen and Brian was eleven. They took some lessons at Guitar and Drumland. Brian later in junior high began taking lessons from an excellent guitarist and teacher, Nick Nolan. It wasn't long and they had their first band - Ozone. Larry was their first singer, he was and is an unbelievably talented vocalist. Soon they were playing concerts, dances, and parties everywhere. Brian at eleven was playing in front of some crazy crowds. After high school they had another band - Headz or Tailz. Heavy Metal had a huge influence on them and is their favorite music. After the band split up Rob didn't play drums again for years while Brian played with several other bands - Contagious, One Eyed Jack, and Tantrum, two of which played at a concert venue called The Ritz near Detroit. Then things changed, Brian had to have a major surgery to remove a brain tumor. His courage and absolute faith in God is something his brother Rob will never forget. He watched Brian have to relearn everything from eating and talking not to mention playing guitar. Brian wasn't going to let anything stop him from a comeback. He has an unbelievable wife (Jill) who stood beside him along with his entire family and close friends. He relearned to play guitar and fought his way back. It was then the brothers re-focused themselves on writing and jamming together like they had done as kids. Brian built a recording studio from scratch and they we're up and rolling. All songs on this CD were performed by Brian and Robert and recorded by Brian. The material could be best described as traditional Heavy Metal. They are about to start recording a second CD, stay tuned...
F.Y.I. - The brothers have full time jobs and do most of the recording and rehearsing on weekends.
